Why Tampa Is Quickly Becoming a Top Choice for Incoming Residents to Plant Roots

In recent years, Tampa, Florida, has become an increasingly popular place for incoming residents to make their home, and it is easy to see why. The city has been experiencing a tremendous amount of growth lately, not only in real estate. High-profile investors are being attracted to the Gulf Coast town after recognizing the promising development potential of the Tampa area. The city is currently emerging as a tech start-up hub, and several large corporations have chosen to move their headquarters there. Along with other industries, these companies have brought thousands of job opportunities to the area and high demand for residences along with them. But regardless of what brings new residents to Tampa, it is the lifestyle they find there that makes them stay. The coastal town has a lot to offer, and the warm weather makes living in Tampa enjoyable all year round.

Florida’s coastline is home to endless marvelous beaches. Tampa residents have a diverse array of sandy, tropical shores to explore nearby. Many of them are located in the Clearwater and St. Petersburg regions of the area, convenient to any Tampa neighborhood. Fort Desoto Park, the largest park in the Tampa Bay area, is the perfect place to experience Florida’s ecological environment. The 1,136-acre park is filled with nature trails, camping sites, a historic fort, and 7 miles of coastline. Many residents also find that Fort Desoto Park is the perfect refuge for dog lovers, with a designated dog beach unique to the area. There are plenty of options for all kinds of beachgoers in Tampa, and the #1 Beach in the U.S., Siesta Key Beach, is well worth the short drive south to Sarasota.

The tropical climate is, without a doubt, a considerable part of what attracts residents to Florida, but the beaches are not the only place to appreciate the warm weather. Tampa offers a lot more ways to enjoy the outdoors year-round. The Tampa Riverwalk, located in the heart of downtown, is a great place to experience all that the town has to offer. The waterfront walkway stretches 2.6 miles down the Hillsborough County River, providing a beautiful backdrop for biking, walking, or just taking in the scenery. The trail also serves as an excellent date night destination, connecting the lively Channelside district to the Heights Public Market. Along the path, residents can enjoy bars, restaurants in the renovated industrial Armature Works building, and even the Tampa History Museum.

Just across the iconic Skyway Bridge in St. Pete, locals can find a district rich in culture and the arts. The Salvador Dalí Museum houses a substantial amount of the renowned painter’s work and often features exhibits from other great artists, such as Vincent Van Gogh and Frida Kahlo. The museum, which opened in 1982, sparked a cultural renaissance in the area, inspiring more artistic institutions to make Tampa their home. Since then, an influx of museums and theatres has provided residents and visitors alike with plenty of options for intellectual enrichment. Tampa also has plenty of zoological and theme parks. With Busch Gardens, the Florida Aquarium, and the Lowry Park Zoo nearby, there is no shortage of excitement for adventurous, animal-loving families.

Boasting a strong roster of hometown teams, sports fans of all kinds can find a lot to root for. All three of Tampa’s major teams have been bringing home big wins recently. The Tampa Bay Rays’ impressive performance catapulted them to Game 6 of the World Series this year. Since the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have recently welcomed Tom Brady, NFL fans are anticipating a great upcoming season. And in what was perhaps the most exciting victory this year, the Tampa Bay Lightning just won the Stanley Cup for the first time since 2004.

The Amelie Arena, which is home to the Lightning team and, temporarily, the Toronto Raptors, also serves as an event venue. The arena generally hosts 150 events each year, including everything from Rock & Roll Hall of Fame concerts to Disney on Ice. The Raymond James Stadium, where the Buccaneers play, is set to host the SuperBowl LV in 2021. These are just two of the entertainment venues that allow residents to enjoy sports and entertainment all year.

Another reason that people are moving to Tampa is because of its travel convenience. Tampa’s International Airport (TPA) makes traveling easy, both domestically and abroad. The airport hosts more than 20 major airlines with nonstop flights to 93 destinations across the Americas, the Caribbean, and Europe. Traveling by sea is also convenient for residents. The Tampa Port of Call is home to eight vessels from six cruise lines, including the luxurious Norwegian and Celebrity lines.

During this exciting time for Tampa, it is not surprising that both home values and sales are on the rise. With everything that the beautiful city has to offer, it is truly a wonderful and lively place to live.
